If you decide to do something you can do it!

An old man lived alone in an American town.
His only son was in prison. The old man wrote a letter to his son

Dear Son,
I am feeling pretty bad because it looks like I won’t be able to plant
my potato garden this year. I’m just getting too old to be
digging up a garden plot. If you were here, all my troubles would be over. I know you would dig the plot for me, if you weren’t in prison.
Love,
Dad

Shortly, the old man received this telegram:

‘For Heaven’s sake, Dad,
don’t dig up the  garden!! That’s where I buried the GUNS !!’

At 4 a.m. the next morning, a dozen FBI agents and local police officers showed up and dug up the entire garden without finding any guns.

Confused, the old man wrote another note to his son telling him what had happened, and asked him what to do next.

His son’s reply was: ‘Go ahead and plant your potatoes, Dad. It’s the
best I could do for you, from here.’

MORAL: NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE IN THE WORLD, IF YOU HAVE DECIDED TO DO SOMETHING DEEP FROM YOUR HEART, YOU CAN DO IT.
IT IS THE THOUGHT THAT MATTERS, NOT WHERE YOU ARE...

Think before you quit...

There is this short story in the alchemist.

There was a miner who had abandoned everything to in mining for emeralds. For 5 yrs he had been working a certain river, and had examined hundreds of thousands of stones looking for am emerald. The miner was about to give it all up, right at the point when, if he were to examine just one more stood-just one more- he would find his emerald. There was one stone that rolled up to the miners foot. The miner, with all the anger and frustration of his 5 fruitless yrs, picked up the stone and threw it aside. But he had thrown it with such force that it broke the stone it fell upon, and there, embedded in the broken stone, was the most beautiful emerald in the world.

My moral: Never quit, you may not know that had you swimmed for few more minutes you might have reached the shore than decide to sink after swimming for hours.

Tulsi Vivah!

Once upon a time Lord Indra began to fear that he was losing the respect among the people as they seemed to worship only the Trimurthy’s. He knew that he couldn’t replace the Gods of Creation and Sustenance (Brahma and Vishnu) but thought people wouldn’t worship Lord Shiva as after all he was only a God of Destruction. So with the intention of waging a war with him, he went to Kailasham. Lord Shiva having foreseen this, assumed the form of the gana, prevented him from entering and challenged him. As they fought, Lord Shiva’s anger kept growing and he very soon overpowered Indra. Indra then prostrated before him and Lord Shiva forgave him but he deposited the left over anger into the ocean. That anger took the form of a baby by name ‘Jalandhara’. He grew up very powerful desiring to be an Asura. When he reached the marriageable age, he approached a powerful Asura named ‘Kalanemi’ who was Ravana’s uncle and sought the hand of his extremely beautiful and intelligent daughter Vrinda who was one of the foremost devotees of Lord Vishnu. After the marriage Jalandhara became extremely powerful due to Vrinda’s yogic powers and prayers to Lord Vishnu. Observing this Shukracharya, the Guru of Asuras made him the King of Asuras. Jalandhara had now conquered all of the earth and was preparing to conquer Indra’s Heaven. Now Indra and other gods approached Lord Shiva for a solution who agreed to talk to Jalandhara. But talks for peace by Lord Shiva failed as Jalandhara insulted him on how he called himself an ascetic and still had a wife Devi Parvathi. Jalandhara proved too powerful even for Lord Shiva during the battle and he trapped all the gods using illusionary power. Jalandhar took the form of Lord Shiva himself and approached Parvarthy with a sinister mind. But Devi with her powers could see through his design and immediately picked her sword to attack him. Jalandhara now feeling a little weak from battle with Lord Shiva and aware of Parvathi’s supreme battle powers, vanished. Lord Vishnu found Parvathi extremely furious and upon knowing the reason, explained to her that since Jalandhara was the husband of his great devotee Vrinda, he was bound to be very powerful due to her prayers. Seeing Parvathy’s anguish, Lord Vishnu with a heavy heart agreed to intervene. He took the form of Jalandhara, went to Vrinda who was deep in prayer to Lord Vishnu for her husband’s safety and called out to her. For a moment Vrinda stopped praying and looked towards “her husband”. At that precise moment Lord Shiva killed Jalandhara as Vrinda had stopped praying for him. Vrinda got to know through her powers that something was wrong and Lord Vishnu took his original form to explain her why he had to do that. But Vrinda was heartbroken and cursed Lord Vishnu that since he stood like a stone while his devotee suffered, he would turn black and reside in a stone and will also be separated from his wife. Lord Vishnu gracefully accepted the curse and sat next to his dead devotee Vrinda feeling very upset.

Lord Shiva came to Lord Vishnu and consoled him not to be grieve as his devotee would be re-born as the Tulsi plant(Vrinda) and would always be part of every ones prayers to Lord Vishnu.  As part of the curse, Lord Vishnu’s spirit entered the Saligram (black stone) found in the river Gomti (Nepal).

Found this story on net, thought of sharing! :-)
I like stories, especially mythological ones which are basis of rituals we follow, it's important to know reason too for performing any ritual. :-)

4G kid

On his fathers 60th birthday Ramesh gifts him one of best touch screen phone with all applications that could be useful for an old man in case of any emergency, GPS, Safety apps, etc.

Next day when the old man was alone at home he got calls from his son enquiring about him but the old man was unable to understand how to answer the call on such hi-tech mobile. The calls went unanswered. Son got worried about him but thought that his father might be asleep since it was afternoon time. Later in the evening the neighbour requests the old man to keep her daughter at his house till she comes from groceries. The old man agreed and was happy with some company.
After few moments old man's mobile rang and he was again puzzled as to understand how to answer it. He was worried that his son will be annoyed and might be worried too. But he was helpless. While the old man struggled the baby girl came near old man and slided her finger on the screen and the mobile stopped ringing. Old man wondered what she did but quickly placed the phone near his ears and then was able to hear his sons voice.

Reaching destination...

Early morning, I boarded local train and luckily got fast one, also got seat to sit which we rarely find in early morning journey and that too in Mumbai Local! I was Happy that I got seat to sit properly and was very happy that now I'll reach my destination easily and quickly! :)
But the happiness couldn't stay for long when more than reasonable time passed and the train didn't move even an inch from the station where I boarded it. Everyone was restless and clueless! People started moving out. I still waited... Waited and waited... But it didn't move nor was there any announcement for commuters. Finally, almost whole train got emptied. Soon, I too decided to leave the best place and the best train I could fetch. I didn't wanted to but I had to if I have to reach my destination.
I stepped down and I noticed that on the parallel platform there was another fast train about to come. I managed to board it. I could fetch 4th seat which I don't like much. I peeped otta window of train to see earlier train, wondering if it would have started after I left it? To my relief, it was still there motionless as before! I was worried if this train too doesn't start but it did start on time and later I realised that it was fast train that I got again. After a short while I got 2nd place and was comfortable with the journey. Few stations before my destination I got window seat too! :)
I reached my destination safely and on time.

Moral of the story:
Sometimes you might fetch the best mode available to reach your destination but not necessary that it'll be best in real terms.
You might have to take risk in life to change your mode but after deciding to change it never worry about what if I wouldn't have decide to change. Think twice before taking any decision but never regret after deciding on anything.
Sometimes it's good to change your views than to think that there is only one best possible way of doing something. You never know there might be many of them. But if we stick to one forever we'll never find other ways that might give us same results.
Reaching to destination is important than through which mode we reach.
Sometimes the luxurious journey may prove useless if it can't make you start your journey at all and might also not make you reach your destination but a bit of struggle and hardship may do it right. So what's important is that you reach your destination and not much about how you reached.

As we've heard, NO PAIN, NO GAIN!

Happy Gulu Polnima...

Mommy was waking me up. I slept back, as usual! But I suddenly remembered what yesterday Nikita, my elder sis was discussing at dinner. Her eyes were lusty while she was saying that she'll be giving surprise to her favourite teacher on some event for teachers. I remembered she did something secretly by locking herself in the room all alone for hours and when she would open the lock, the room would be all messed up with bits of colorful papers spread all around the room. Surprisingly, mommy did not scold her for messing up room like she would scold me! I dig didi to tell me what she was doing but she would never tell! All this had continued for a week! Mommy and daddy didn't help me to probe into it more. Krish, didi is doing something important so let her do it peacefully, daddy warned me when I was banging the door of the room while she had again locked her inside. But yesterday she had promised me that she'll show me today morning before going to school what her surprise was. Oh! I am late. She might have left! I can't see her school bag in the room. I ran out to the dining room hoping she would not have left yet but might be having her breakfast. I prayed God, that didi don't leave before showing me the surprise. But I couldn't find her there, I asked mommy about her and she replied, Niki left for school just a minute before. I rushed to the main door without a word to catch her on bus stop. Mommy was calling me from behind but I ran and ran as quickly as a 3yr toddler could, without caring that I was in my night dress, my hairs were messed up, my eyes still looked got otta sleep. I reached the bus stop and was breathless. Didi saw me and before I could catch my breath back to normal and ask her to show me the surprise, her school bus came and she teased me with her thong out and thumb down and went in the bus and waved me and behind me someone a good bye! Tears filled in my eyes and somebody held me in her arms. It was mommy, I could see blur figure of her in my tearful eyes. I wept all the way while we reached home again. People were staring at me while mommy took me back home. Mommy gave me her usual sweet smile and wiped my tears. Didi is bad, I said her. You are bad. Daddy is bad. Everyone is bad I howled back into tears and went in my room and soaked my pillow. Daddy came to me and lift me in his arms and wiped my eyes from his fresh, clean white handkerchief that he would have taken today morning to use throughout the day. Daddy asked me why I was crying? In my cracked and still almost weepy voice I told him that I wanted to see didi's surprise but she went to school even before I could see it and she would be giving that to her teacher today and I won't be able to see it ever! Mommy too came in the room and holding me again in her arms she said that they saw it and they can tell me what it was like. They started explaining me what she had made. I was mesmerized by the thought. She had made something called "gleeting carrd". But I was unable to understand what exactly gleeting carrd means? May be something very special, I thought. I asked daddy why she had made gleeting for her teacher? Daddy told me it was someday called "GULU PORLIMA" something like that! My puzzled look explained them that I was hungry for more explanation but mommy said that she'll explain me only after I bath and get ready. Later, daddy left for office. I got ready quickly and had my milk and not so favourite breakfast of oats without a word. Mommy went back to kitchen as if she had forgotten everything that she had promised to me. I went behind her and dragged her otta kitchen to tell me about it more. Mommy smiled her sweet smile again and told me to sit on chair till she comes and directly went inside her bedroom. I was waiting for her to return back but she didn't. I waited more and finally she called me inside. I jumped down the chair and went running inside. She was in front of the tv that daddy had recently brought but I don't understand why he bought this new tv even though we have old one working, in fact I don't like new tv coz it can't play my favourite Chota bheem on it! Also it's remote is big, attached with wire, have many buttons that I don't understand, nor can I switch this tv on and there is one small remote with two buttons. Mommy was using small remote. I stared at the screen and mommy lifted me to her lap and with her index finger pointed towards the screen which had some images and said these are gleeting carrds. I looked carefully. Hmmm these colourful rectangular things are gleeting. They had also written something which I couldn't read. I noticed what it was like and could try to imagine what didi would have made. Wow! I loved it. I too wanted to make gleeting. I wanted to tell mommy that I too want to make a gleeting carrd. But for whom? I don't go to school and don't have any teacher. I was sad again! :(
Mommy continued with her daily chores and I played with my friends in the garden. It was afternoon, mommy and I had our lunch and then we watched old tv, people were speaking about their teachers and how they wished them, at some channel people were telling the importance of this day. Later, after completing her work mommy slept and I went to my room to see what to play with as I was not sleepy at all. While playing I got tired and went back and slowly slept besides mommy carefully not waking her up.
Evening daddy returned from office, I could hear it from my room when daddy greet mommy. Daddy also enquired about me and didi. I love it when daddy ask about me. I went otta my room and jumped on him hugging him tightly. Didi too came back from school but unexpectedly her face looked sad and she directly went to kitchen to talk to mommy. May be Niki is tired, daddy said when he noticed my puzzled look. I went back to my room and when I returned mommy, daddy and didi were in the hall. I went close to them and I heard didi saying in choked voice that today her teacher did not come as she had left the school and hence she could not wish her teacher today and will never be able to in future too. I went close to them and they looked at me all together. Krish, what are you hiding behind in your hands? Mommy asked. I requested them to close their eyes but didi suddenly walked off irritably to our room ignoring me completely. Mommy again asked me and I told them to close their eyes again! They did as I said and I noticed didi was back standing at the door of the room and looking at me. May be she caught me coz I forgot to clean back the room. Before she could scold me for messing up the room and using her painting and craft work I quickly brought my hands to the front side and asked mommy and daddy to open their eyes. I had made gleeting carrd for them! Mommys mouth fell open otta surprise; daddy took the gleeting in his hand. It had picture of mommy, daddy and didi along with me. Didi came to us and asked me why I had prepared it? And I replied her,"even though I don't go to school and I don't have teacher but you all are my teachers because mommy taught me how to eat, how to speak, daddy taught me how to walk and how to ride my bicycle, you taught me how to play and how to paint. You all have taught me so many things. So I wish you all happy gulu polnima from Krish." They all smiled and gave me a tight hug. Didi went back to our room and came with her gleeting that she couldn't give to her teacher and gave to mommy and daddy and wished them for teaching us so many things.

Other teachers will come and go and might not be in touch with us forever but our best teachers are our Parents who would always be with us forever and what they had taught us no one else can ever. They are our God and they are our first Gurus'! :)

"Difference in Love and Marriage"...

A student asks a teacher, "What is love?"
The teacher said, "in order to answer your question, go to the wheat field and choose the biggest wheat and
come back.
But the rule is: you can go through them only once and cannot turn back to pick."

The student went to the field, go through first row, he saw one big wheat, but he wonders... may be there is a
bigger one later.
Then he saw another bigger one... But may be there is an even bigger one waiting for him.
Later, when he finished more than half of the wheat field, he start to realize that the wheat is not as big as the
previous one he saw, he know he has missed the biggest one, and he regretted.
So, he ended up went back to the teacher with empty hand.

The teacher told him, "this is love... You keep looking for a better one, but when later you realise, you have
already miss the person..."

"What is marriage then?" the student asked.

The teacher said, "in order to answer your question, go to the corn field and choose the biggest corn and
come back. But the rule is: you can go through them only once and cannot turn back to pick."

The student went to the corn field, this time he is careful not to repeat the previous mistake, when he reach
the middle of the field, he has picked one medium corn that he feel satisfy, and come back to the teacher.
The teacher told him, "This time you bring back a corn. You look for one that is just nice, and you have faith
and believe this is the best one you get... This is marriage.

PUT THE GLASS DOWN!

The Professor began his class by holding up a glass with some water in it.
He held it up for all to see & asked the students “How much do you think this glass weighs?"
"50gms!"....."100gms!"....."125gms"...the students answered. "I really don't know unless I weigh it" some said
The professor said,"but, my question is: What would happen if I held it up like this for a few minutes?
"Nothing"…..the students said.
"Ok what would happen if I held it up like this for an hour?"the professor asked.
"Your arm would begin to ache"said one of the student
"You're right, now what would happen if I held it for a day?"
"Your arm could go numb; you might have severe muscle stress & paralysis & have to go to hospital for sure!" Ventured another student & all the students laughed
"Very good. But during all this, did the weight of the glass change?"Asked the professor.
"No…." Was the answer.
"Then what caused the arm ache & the muscle stress?
The students were puzzled.
"What should I do now to come out of pain?"asked professor again.
"Put the glass down!"said one of the students
"Exactly!" said the professor.

Life's problems are something like this.
Hold it for a few minutes in your head & they seem OK.
Think of them for a long time & they begin to ache.
Hold it even longer & they begin to paralyze you.
You will not be able to do anything.
It's important to think of the challenges or problems in your life, but EVEN MORE IMPORTANT is to'PUT THEM DOWN at the end of every day before you go to sleep... That way, you are not stressed, you wake up every day fresh & strong & can handle any issue, any challenge that comes your way! So, when you start your day, Remember friend to ‘PUT THE GLASS DOWN!

Knowing priorities (and sequence)

My wife stood before me and had some items in front of her.

Without a word, she picked up and emptied a large jar of mayonnaise and proceeded to fill the empty jar with rocks right to the top, rocks about 2" diameter, then asked me if the jar was full.

I agreed that it was.

So my wife then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them in to the jar. She shook the jar lightly. The pebbles, of course, rolled into the open areas between the rocks. My wife then asked me if the jar was now full.

I agreed that, yes, it was.

She then picked up a bag of sand and proceeded to pour it into the jar with the result that the sand filled up the remaining spaces between the rocks and pebbles.

"Now," said my wife, "I want you to recognize that this is your life. The rocks are the important things - your family, your wife who loves you, your health, your children - anything that is so important to you that if it were lost, you would be nearly destroyed. The pebbles are the other things in life that matter, but on a smaller scale. The pebbles represent things like your job, your house and your car. The sand is everything else. The small stuff. You X-box, FootBall, the pub, porn. If you put the sand or the pebbles first, there is no room for the rocks. The same goes for your life. If you spend all your energy and time on the small stuff, material things, you will never have room for the things that are truly most important." I was dumbfounded.

A Letter from "Mom n Dad"...

My child,
When I get old, I hope you understand 'n have patience with me.
In case I break the plate, or spill soup on the table because I’m losing my eyesight, I hope you don’t yell at me. Older people are sensitive, always having self pity when you yell.
When my hearing gets worse 'n I can’t hear what you’re saying, I hope you don’t call me ‘Deaf!’ Please repeat what you said or write it down.
I’m sorry, my child. I’m getting older. When my knees get weaker, I hope you have the patience to help me get up. Like how I used to help you while you were little, learning how to walk.
Please bear with me, when I keep repeating myself like a broken record, I hope you just keep listening to me. Please don’t make fun of me, or get sick of listening to me. Do you remember when you were little 'n you wanted a ballon? You repeated yourself over 'n over until you get what you wanted.
Please also pardon my smell. I smell like an old person. Please don’t force me to shower. My body is weak. Old people get sick easily when they’re cold. I hope I don’t gross you out. Do you remember when you were little? I used to chase you around because you didn't want to shower. I hope you can be patient with me when I’m always cranky. It’s all part of getting old.
You’ll understand when you’re older 'n if you have spare time, I hope we can talk even for a few minutes. I’m always all by myself all the time, 'n have no one to talk to. I know you’re busy with work. Even if you’re not interested in my stories, please have time for me. Do you remember when you were little? I used to listen to your stories about your teddy bear.
When the time comes, 'n I get ill 'n bedridden, I hope you have the patience to take care of me. I’m sorry if I accidentally wet the bed or make a mess. I hope you have the patience to take care of me during the last few moments of my life.
I’m not going to last much longer, anyway.
When the time of my death comes, I hope you hold my hand 'n give me strength to face death.

'n don’t worry..
When I finally meet our creator, I will whisper in his ear to bless you. Because you loved your Mom 'n Dad.
Thank you so much for your care.
We love you. ! ♥

One Of The Best Arguments....

An atheist professor of philosophy speaks to his class on the problem science has with God, The Almighty.
He asks one of his new students to stand and…..
Prof: So you believe in God?
Student: Absolutely, sir.
Prof: Is God good?
Student: Sure.
Prof: Is God all-powerful?
Student: Yes..
Prof: My brother died of cancer even though he prayed to God to heal him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But God didn’t. How is this God good then? Hmm?
(Student is silent.)
Prof: You can’t answer, can you? Let’s start again, young fella. Is God good?
Student: Yes.
Prof: Is Satan good?
Student: No.
Prof: Where does Satan come from?
Student: From….God…
Prof: That’s right. Tell me son, is there evil in this world?
Student: Yes.
Prof: Evil is everywhere, isn’t it? And God did make everything. Correct?
Student: Yes.
Prof: So who created evil?
(Student does not answer.)
Prof: Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the world, don’t they?
Student: Yes, sir.
Prof: So, who created them?
(Student has no answer.)
Prof: Science says you have 5 senses you use to identify and observe the world around you. Tell me, son…Have you ever seen God?
Student: No, sir.
Prof: Tell us if you have ever heard your God?
Student: No, sir.
Prof: Have you ever felt your God, tasted your God, smelt your God? Have you ever had any sensory perception of God for that matter?
Student: No, sir. I’m afraid I haven’t.
Prof: Yet you still believe in Him?
Student: Yes.
Prof: According to empirical, testable, demonstrable protocol, science says your GOD doesn’t exist.
What do you say to that, son?
Student: Nothing. I only have my faith.
Prof: Yes. Faith. And that is the problem science has.
Student: Professor, is there such a thing as heat?
Prof: Yes.
Student: And is there such a thing as cold?
Prof: Yes.
Student: No sir. There isn’t.
(The lecture the after becomes very quiet with this turn of events.)
Student: Sir, you can have lots of heat, even more heat, superheat, mega heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat..
But we don’t have anything called cold. We can hit 458 degrees below zero which is no heat, but we can’t go any further after that. There is no such thing as cold. Cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat. We cannot measure cold. Heat is energy Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of it .
(There is pin-drop silence in the lecture theatre.)
Student: What about darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as darkness?
Prof: Yes. What is night if there isn’t darkness?
Student : You’re wrong again, sir. Darkness is the absence of something. You can have low light, normal light, bright
light, flashing light…..But if you have no light constantly, you have nothing and it’s called darkness, isn’t it? In reality, darkness isn’t. If it were you would be able to make darkness darker, wouldn’t you?
Prof: So what is the point you are making, young man?
Student: Sir, my point is your philosophical premise is flawed.
Prof: Flawed? Can you explain how?
Student: Sir, you are working on the premise of duality. You argue there is life and then there is death, a good God and a bad God. You are viewing the concept of God as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, science can’t even explain a thought.. It uses electricity and magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one.To view death as the opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive thing. Death is
not the opposite of life: just the absence of it.
Now tell me, Professor.Do you teach your students that they evolved from a monkey?
Prof: If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, yes, of course, I do.
Student: Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?
(The Professor shakes his head with a smile, beginning to realize where the argument is going.)
Student: Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor, are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you not a scientist but a preacher? (The class is in uproar.)
Student: Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the Professor’s brain?
(The class breaks out into laughter.)
Student : Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor’s brain, felt it, touched or smelt it? No one appears to have done so. So, according to the established rules of empirical, stable, demonstrable protocol, science says that you have no brain, sir. With all due respect, sir, how do we then trust your lectures, sir?
(The room is silent. The professor stares at the student, his face unfathomable.)
Prof: I guess you’ll have to take them on faith, son.
Student: That is it sir… The link between man & god is FAITH . That is all that keeps things moving & alive.
I believe you have enjoyed the conversation…and if so…you’ll probably want your friends/colleagues to enjoy the same…won’t you?….this is a true story, and the
student was none other than …….

Don't draw conclusions...

One old man was sitting with his 25 years old son in the train. Train is about to leave the station. All passengers are settling down their seat. As train started young man was filled with lot of joy and curiosity. He was sitting on the window side. He went out one hand and feeling the passing air. He shouted, "Papa see all trees are going behind". Old man smile and admired son feelings.
Beside the young man one couple was sitting and listing all the conversion between father and son. They were little awkward with the attitude of 25 years old man behaving like a small child. Suddenly young man again shouted, "Papa see the pond and animals. Clouds are moving with train".Couple was watching the young man embarrassingly. Now it starts raining and some of the water drops touched the young man's hand. He filled with joy and he closed the eyes. He shouted again," Papa it's raining, water is touching me, see papa". Couple couldn't help themselves and ask the old man. "Why don't you visit the Doctor and get treatment for your son."
Old man said, “Yes, we are coming from the hospital as today only my son got his eye sight for the first time in his life".

Moral: "Don't draw conclusions until you know all the facts".
